There are four priorities for the believer, discipleship, fellowship, worship, and prayer. (Acts 2:42) Only one of those can really be done alone, prayer. Our walk with God was never intended to be a solitary event. It is communal. God’s first redemptive act was making clothes for Adam AND Eve. Then He saves Noah’s entire family and ultimately calls the whole nation of Israel to Himself. We are made for each other. Even in the creation story, God says, “Let US make man in OUR image.” (Genesis 1:26)
As we begin this ALL IN adventure it is important that we seek to go together and not alone. Talk to somebody today about what God is doing in your life. Share the adventure with them. Invite them to pray with you regularly. Begin a Bible Study with a group of friends. Seeking first the Kingdom of God means, in part, that we seek to be in deeper relationship with His people. Let’s go ALL IN.
“God, of all grace, who created us from and calls us to community. Rescue me today from my selfishness and self-centeredness. Teach me to know the love of Jesus by sharing the love of Jesus. May Your presence in me lead me to be Your presence with others today. In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.”
